Walk The Line.

My inspiration for this project was the idea that life itself creates lines, many of which you literately walk. I though it would be interesting to use maps of places that are significant to my life, New England, Florida, and Colorado, to show the different places life takes you. I also wanted to use pictures of weird or random things to represent all of the cool, crazy and strange things that happen along the way.

Final Project.

After LAying out all my work form the quick challenges, Knew that my card board cut out pieces, my collages, and my thread pieces were my favorite. Not only did I like each of these works individually but I  though they would work well together as well. I think the black lines of the thread and the card board lend themselves to highlighting or outlining collage elements.

Reflection.

Due to the fact that my really nice Drawing Three Professor, Laura Mongiovi, let me redo this assignment I decided to "refelct' on some of my work from this year. By taking photos of my work through mirrors and glass I feel that the photos not only show some of my work from this year but also create unique images.

Conversation.

My character for the conversation piece was Tom Fetchelmen, and middle aged butcher and hunting enthusiast from Ohio. My piece evolved from the idea that Tom finally decided to kill someone and it happened to a high school student that to interview him for a class. The photos in the police report are said to form the students camera and the interview from his note book.

 Found Objects

For this project I tried to simply react to the features of each object, and not over analyze them. Each pice aims to highlight certain features and to also recreate the feel of each object. EXCEPT for the toy car, that piece takes on part of a narrative of how the Cuban coin got to America and that is the same way some Cuban people do, on a car raft.

Thread

For the Thread challenge I used black string to highlight parts of photos.

Fabric

I had a hardtime with word fabric, and ultimately decided to burn the fabric and create a hard melted texture. While barnstorming I also created the FA-Brick.
